A 120th-anniversary invitation and a site the brigade can keep up

A new website for a village volunteer fire brigade, with its history, equipment, youth section, anniversary programme and live local weather.
Challenge
The brigade's 120th anniversary was coming up. It needed somewhere to invite the village to the celebrations, and a site that reads well on a phone, while keeping the old site as an archive.
Club websites tend to have many subpages and little time for upkeep. The structure has to be simple enough for anyone in the brigade to find their way around.
Solution
We built a site with clear subpages: directions, contacts, photo gallery, documents, youth, history, equipment, and a separate 120th anniversary page with the programme from the printed flyer.
First-time visitors see an announcement about the celebrations. Once dismissed, it stays hidden for the rest of the visit. The home page shows live local weather from an open weather service.
The visuals use cartoon illustrations and short videos instead of photos of specific people. The old site is still linked from the menu so the archive isn't lost.

How it works
- 1
Home
Visitors see what the brigade does and an invitation to the anniversary.
- 2
News
Cards for the upcoming calendar, the youth group and the anniversary programme.
- 3
Subpages
Equipment, history, youth and contacts, each on its own page.
- 4
Directions
The fire station address and how to get there by car or train.

What it does
