PickUp Rank
How much work businesses lose by not answering the phone

Businesses pay for ads so that people call, then miss the call. PickUp Rank measures this with real test calls and publishes the results by trade.

Challenge
A plumber or heating engineer pays for ads so that people call, then misses the call. They rarely know how much work that costs them, because nobody measures it.
Reviews don't show it either. A customer who couldn't get through doesn't write a review. They just call someone else.
Solution
PickUp Rank calls a business's public number as an ordinary customer would and records what happens: how many seconds until someone answered, and whether it was a person, voicemail or nobody.
Results feed a public directory by trade and an index with the average answer rate and ring time for each trade. Every result carries the date and time of the test.
On the site, a business can work out what missed calls cost them and look at the fix: an AI receptionist that takes the calls for them.

How it works
- 1
Test call
The system calls the business's number like an ordinary customer.
- 2
Measure
It records the time to answer and the outcome: person, voicemail or nothing.
- 3
Index
Results are rolled up by trade into a public index.
- 4
Calculator
A business enters its own numbers and sees what missed calls cost.

What it does
- Real test calls, not a survey
- Time to answer and outcome for every call
- Public business directory by trade
- Index of answer rate and average ring time by trade
- Missed-call cost calculator
- Follow-on AI receptionist offer
From the project

Outcome
The site is public and tracks five trades in the UK and the US. According to its index, businesses answered only one test call in five.
